| The cellulose content of Malt Soup Extract classifies it as a
Bulk Forming Fiber
Laxative
. Bulk laxatives absorb liquid in the
intestines and swell to form a soft bulky stool. The bulky mass stimulates
the intestinal muscles speeding stool transit time through the colon. Malt
Soup Extract will not work as a bulking forming laxative without increased
fluid intake. Malt Soup Extract contains a significant amount of the sugar
maltose, a disaccharide that may have an osmotic action in the colon. Read

swallowing. Do not take if you have an intestinal blockage or impacted stool.

Do not swallow in the dry form. Take with liquid. To prevent intestinal
blockage, drink plenty of fluids. During pregnancy, bulk-formers that contain
a large amount of sodium or sugar may increase blood pressure or cause water
